A bathroom mirror is for your face. If you can place it, keep the toilet bowl out of the glass. Fog and cracks are chores. A reflection does not drain wealth or health.
When we photograph baths, the vanity glass shows the open bowl and a tank of products. People ask for a crystal between the two. The lid is up. This page is lid, angle, and wipe.
Whole-house mirrors: mirror placement. Bath as water room: bathroom wealth (still not a paycheck). Water element: water. Tiny flats: small apartment.
The toilet-in-the-glass rule
Popular notes say a mirror that shows the toilet "doubles the drain." Water leaving the house is the metaphor. We will not attach income or illness to that picture.
The usable rule: you would rather see a sink than a bowl while you brush. If the glass is fixed over a sink that faces the toilet (many galley baths), you have rental tools:
- Close the lid. Every time.
- A shorter mirror or a medicine cabinet you can shut.
- A plant or a towel on a hook that breaks the line, if it does not block the aisle.
- A removable film or a cloth cover if you only need the glass for teeth.
Do not hang a crystal from a damp ceiling as a "cure." It is dust and a fall risk.
What the glass should show
Your head and shoulders. A window if you have one. A clean counter.
It should not need to show art you bought for the bath. A plant is fine if it likes steam. Dead stems in the reflection are still dead stems.
A mirror that faces the bathroom door can bounce whoever is in the hall. If that startles you, a side-wall glass is better. Many rentals only have the vanity wall. Live with it, keep the lid down.
Two full-height glasses opposite each other turn a galley into a tunnel of you. One is enough. Take the extra down if you own it.
Size, cracks, fog
A glass that cuts your forehead is annoying to use. "Cuts off thoughts" is a slogan. Replace when you can.
Cracked or black-spotted silvering is a replace. Distorted cheap glass is a headache, not "distorted energy."
Fog after a shower is steam. A fan or an open door is the fix. Wipe toothpaste. Daily "sparkling chi" talk is a chore list with extra words.
Round or oval frames are metal-element shapes if you are counting. A simple frame that does not rust is enough. Ornate is taste.
Layouts
Single wall vanity, toilet on the side. Usual good case. Glass stays over the sink.
Galley. Vanity on one long wall, toilet on the other. The glass may catch the bowl. Lid, shorter glass, or a cabinet door.
Windowless. You need the brightest bulb you have. The mirror helps you see. It does not "circulate chi" like a fan. Add a plant only if it will live.
Shared / kids. A lower extra glass is a height job. Keep chemicals in a cabinet, not on the tank in the reflection.
A bath that opens onto the bed (studio or en suite with no door) is a privacy and steam job. A curtain or a door you close at night beats a second mirror. If the vanity glass can see the pillow, treat it like a bedroom mirror: cover at night if it keeps the room visually on. Bedroom.
Medicine cabinets that close are the honest rental "off" switch. Leave them shut when you leave the room. An open cabinet of bottles in the glass is the clutter rule with steam.
What to skip
Do not promise health or wealth from a lid. Do not paste an App Store URL in the body. Do not put a pot on the tank if a kid can pull it. Do not treat a door-facing rental mirror as a failed house.
If you cannot move the glass, the lid is the whole article.
How to judge a change
You brush without the bowl in the picture, or you accepted the lid rule. The glass is clear. The aisle is open.
