Feng Shui, for this site, is a door that opens, a path you can walk, and a seat that can see who enters. Bagua, five elements, and yin-yang are optional maps. They do not transform a life or a paycheck.
When we photograph "first rooms," the landing is a second closet and the bed faces a wall. People ask for a bagua overlay and a fountain. The swing is still blocked. This page is the order of work.
Piles: decluttering. Grid: bagua. Cycle: five elements. Lease: renters.
What the word means here
"Feng shui" is wind and water in the usual gloss. Classical practice mixed graves, sites, and compass. Modern house blogs mixed a nine-square from the door (BTB) with Form School (see the door, do not sit in the door line).
This site uses Form School first. Maps are labeled when we use them. We do not treat qi as a lab measurement. A blocked landing is furniture.
Schools disagree. If two articles conflict, they are mixing maps. Name the map.
Start in this order
- Door. It must open 90 degrees. Shoes in a closed bin. Entryway.
- Bed or desk. See the door if the room allows. Solid wall behind. Bedroom. Desk.
- First surface. Nightstand, landing, kitchen counter. One tray that empties on a set day.
- Light. A lamp you use. Lighting.
- One map, later. Bagua or compass, not both on night one.
You do not need plants, coins, or a fountain to finish step 1.
Photograph twice before you buy anything. One frame from the door facing in. One from the bed or the chair facing the latch. If the first photo is a wall of shoes, that is the job. If the second photo cannot see the door, that is the next job. A bagua printout does not replace either photo.
Qi, on this site, is a classroom word for how the room feels to walk through. We will not treat it as a measured fluid. A blocked landing is furniture. A dark corner is a bulb. If two blogs disagree, they are usually mixing Form School with a door grid or a compass overlay. Name the map. Then do one room.
A small apartment is the same order with fewer walls. The door, the bed, the table. Small apartment. A new lease: walk the empty rooms before the sofa lands in the door line. New home.
Furniture angle without a map: how to arrange furniture. Sleep if nights are the pain: sleep. Money talk has a hard limit: wealth.
"Benefits" lists (better sleep, more money, better love) are testimonials we will not reprint. A darker bedroom can help sleep. A clear desk can help work. Those are room jobs. They are not proof the school worked.
The maps, in one line each
Bagua. Nine life-area labels on a floor. Door-based (BTB) and compass-based versions can put "wealth" on different walls. Bagua.
Five elements. Wood, fire, earth, metal, water in a feed and control cycle. One extra object per room. Five elements.
Yin and yang. Quiet vs active rooms. A bedroom that is all screens is a yang night. Yin-yang.
Compass. Facing direction with a luo pan or a phone, with magnetic caveats. Compass.
What we will not claim
Better sleep can follow a darker, quieter room. That is sleep hygiene plus bed geometry. It is not proof the gua worked.
Productivity can follow a desk that sees the door. That is startle and clutter. It is not a career spell.
Relationships and money have other causes. The wealth and guest-room pages state the limits. Do not use this intro as a results list.
Owners can drill. Renters usually cannot. The order of work does not change. The tools do: bins, lamps, rugs, pots you can take. If a page tells you to knock a wall through for "flow," skip it. Renters.
A first scan in the app is useful after the door opens and the seat can see the latch. Scanning a blocked landing just flags the pile you already see.
A first weekend
Pick one room (usually bedroom or the door). Photograph from the entrance and from the seat. Clear the swing. Angle the bed or chair. Change the bulb if it is a flood. Stop.
A scan in FengShui Hero flags piles and sightlines. It is photo analysis, not a classical master. How AI changes practice.
What to skip
Do not paste App Store links in the body. Do not keep scrape chrome or fake stars. Do not buy a five-element kit for a blocked landing. Do not promise harmony, prosperity, or ancient wisdom as a treatment.
If you only have an hour, do the door.
How to judge a change
You can walk in with groceries. You can see the door from the pillow or the chair. You did not need a third object.
