A feng shui front door mat is the washable rectangle at the mouth of chi. It sits fully on the floor so the door can open. It stays clean enough that you would rather wipe your shoes on it than step around it. A dirty or bunched mat is worse than leaving the threshold bare.
When we photograph rental entries, the mat is often the first object in the swing. It is folded under the slab. It holds last week's trainers. People ask which color is lucky. We ask them to open the door to 90 degrees and listen for the scrape. This guide is that scrape.
What is a Feng Shui front door mat?
It is an accessory for the mouth of the house, not a second closet at ankle height. Form School cares about the gate: a door that opens, and a floor you can stand on. The mat is the small version of that test. If the leaf cannot pass it, the mouth is already closed.

How do you keep shoes off the mat?
