Metal in Feng Shui is the white-and-round part of the five-element set: pale walls, circles, steel, brass. West and northwest are the usual map. It does not hire a mentor or finish your project.
When we photograph "metal sectors," the west is a junk closet and the only circle is a dead clock. People ask for silver paint to get focused. The desk still faces a wall. This guide is one honest object, then the cycle.
Hub: five elements. Water that metal is said to feed: water. Fire that is said to melt it: fire.
What counts as metal
White, gray, pale gold, copper hardware, a round table, an oval mirror, a steel lamp. Actual keys in a bowl are already metal.
Marble and granite get filed as earth or as "metal born from earth" depending on the blog. If you use earth for ceramics, keep stone there. Do not count the same slab twice.
Where the map puts metal
West. Children and completion in many BTB notes. A round clock and a clear surface are enough. A nursery still follows the kids bed rules.
Northwest. Helpful people and travel talk. A metal frame by the door is optional. The landing still needs to swing: entryway.
Metal feeds water, so a white bowl in a north career corner is a pairing some people like. A fountain plus a chrome pile is two jobs. Career area.
South fire plus a wall of mirrors can glare. That is eyes, not a clash you must fear.
Too much, too little
Too little: no pale field, no circle, no hardware you notice. Add a lamp or a round tray.
Too much: clinic-white, every edge chrome, no wood. Add a plant or a warm bulb. Wood.
Focus problems are not a metal deficiency. Desk.
Rooms that already have metal
A studio often puts west and northwest on the same wall. Pick one object. Do not chrome the whole wall.
Kids rooms: a round clock is metal. Sharp mobile blades over a crib are a safety job first. Kids.
Offices: a steel lamp and a clear tray are enough. A wall of framed awards is already metal. You do not need a gold decal for "helpful people."
Kitchens: hardware and the fridge are metal. White cabinets are the color. You do not need a second "metal cure" on the stove wall.
Renters: a lamp, a clock, a tray you take when you leave. Do not panel a wall in brushed steel. Doorknobs and hinges already count if you are only counting objects.
A west closet stuffed with hangers is metal plus a blocked path. Empty the swing first. Closet.
House numbers and a steel mailbox are metal at the street. Readability is the job. Lucky-digit talk stays on house numbers. A gold decal on a door you cannot open 90 degrees is the wrong order.
Wind chimes and coins
Metal chimes are this element as sound. Hang where there is wind, not over a bed. Wind chimes. Coins in a bowl are a charm extra: lucky charms.
A weekend sequence
- Pick west, northwest, or "the pale wall."
- Clear the floor path.
- Add one round or metal object you already own.
- Photograph from the door.
- Stop buying silver decals.
What to skip
Do not promise clarity, mentors, or lung health. Do not paste an App Store URL in the body. Do not diagnose "rigidity" from a white sofa. Do not melt the sector with nine candles to "balance."
If the room is cold, fix the bulb before the bagua.
How to judge a change
You can name the object and the wall. The door still opens. You did not redecorate the whole flat in chrome.
Scan that wall in FengShui Hero. Use this article for the cycle.
Sources and limits
West and northwest labels follow popular bagua pairing. Empirical research on Feng Shui as a whole is limited and mixed. Not medical or career advice.
